For a thinwall mould, usually the wall thickness is thinner than common injection, between 0.35 to 0.65mm. If with IML labeling molding, the wall thickness could between 0.45 to 0.7mm. For some big part such as 10L bucket mould, if the wall thickness is around to 1mm, we could also call it thinwall molding.
Consider thinwall parts is not easy for injection molding, make the mould even and with high speed injection is very important for thinwall moulds.
For all the thinwall mould, we design with wear plate to adjust core shift, use stainless steel material with high hard ness to get long mold life, use high speed milling machine for tooling. During every step, we use 3D CMM to check its dimensions. The mould assembling is also very important for thinwall mould, as the screw tightening could affect the mould dimension. We have to control the mould tolerance within 0.02mm.
